Wine aging

Our wines are then aged in vats or in barrels, between 14 and 18 months. We carefully select our barrels, all made of French oak, mostly from the famed forests of the Allier region, for their ability to bring to our wines the right touch of finesse that will blend with the natural aromas and tannins of our terroir while avoiding to overwhelm them with excessively woody aromas. The final blends are then assembled to reflect the best of our terroir.

From this subtle alchemy of blending and ageing, culmination of months of hard labor in the vineyard and at the winery, the true nature of the wines of Château Croix de Bertinat is revealed; a blend of classicism and modernity, expression of its vine varieties, its terroir, and the personality of the men and women who contributed to their making.
