Located 3 km southwest of the village of Saint Emilion and half a km east of Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens, one of the nine villages which make up the “Saint-Emilion” appellation, Château Croix de Bertinat today comprises an 8.3 hectares (abt. 21 acres) vineyard and a winery.

Our vines grow on the sandy-gravelly plateau at the foot of the southwest hillside of Saint Emilion. Specifically, a deep vein of warm siliceous gravels crosses our vineyard.

These silica pebbles have been deposited here over millenniums by the river Dordogne, which riverbed was once located where the estate now sits.
